Rs 1.66 Crore Fraud at Ahmedabad’s ‘Gym Lounge’: Complaint Filed Against Employees for Cheating Customers and Owner in Membership Scam

Ahmedabad, September 24, 2026:

A shocking case has come to light in the Motera and Sughad areas of Ahmedabad, where high-ranking employees of the well-known fitness chain ‘Gym Lounge’ cheated the gym operator out of a massive sum of Rs 1.66 crore. Regarding this entire matter, Vijaysingh Sengar, the gym operator, has filed an official police complaint with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Ahmedabad Crime Branch. Following the complaint by the complainant and gym owner Vijay Sengar, the police have launched an investigation into the alleged fraud.

Details of the Scam:

According to the details of the incident, on the occasion of the gym completing 10 years, the operator introduced a special offer of “10 years membership for Rs 10,000” from July 1 to July 10. After this period ended, the gym owner went abroad and out of town for business work. Taking advantage of his absence, Jainish Shukla (Center Head) and Manish Sharma (Branch Manager), who were managing the gym’s administration, illegally continued this expired scheme.

The accused misled other staff members and collected funds from approximately 2,500 customers in the name of this membership. Instead of depositing the money collected from customers into the company’s official account, the accused transferred the funds via cash and into their personal bank accounts (UPI). The name of Jainish Shukla’s wife, Bharti Shukla, has also emerged as a participant in this criminal conspiracy.

Forged Documents and Plans for a New Gym:

To carry out the scam, the accused created a forged partnership agreement under a name similar to ‘Gym Lounge’, opened a new bank account, and suspiciously diverted the funds. Primary investigations have also revealed that the accused were preparing to launch their own new gym using the money obtained through this fraud.

Exposure of the Scam and Strict Police Action:

Upon returning, when the gym owner noticed the presence of new members in the gym and checked the software as well as the accounts, a major discrepancy was found in the records. Despite customers having receipts, the amount was not credited to the company’s bank account, exposing the scam.

Currently, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch (EOW) has initiated an intensive investigation based on bank accounts, CCTV footage, and payment records. Police have arrested the main accused’s wife in this case and have set the wheels in motion to nab the absconding Center Head Jainish Shukla and Branch Manager Manish Sharma.

Further shocking details regarding financial transactions and other involved individuals are expected to emerge following the police investigation.
